A man fatally shot himself in front of a Queens police station Friday morning as a trio of officers approached his car, officials said.
The 25-year-old was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head inside a double-parked car in front of the 106th Precinct on 101st Street near Liberty Avenue in Ozone Park about 9 a.m., cops said.
He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where he died, police said.
According to law enforcement sources, the man’s ex-girlfriend had called 911 to report that he had threatened her with a gun last night.
Sources say the man walked inside the precinct about 8 a.m. and wordlessly placed a bullet on the front desk before walking out.
The man then drove around the block several times before double parking out front, at which time, three cops approached the car and he shot himself, sources said.
Police sources added that the man has a previous arrest record for bribery, driving with a suspended license, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation is ongoing.
