Meghan Markle Dazzles in Emerald Before Departing Fiji with Prince Harry
Meghan and Harry’s tour Down Under, yes, rolls on, as the Duke and Duchess got back on the road, as it were, after an “off” night of relaxation at a Fiji resort. The couple spent their Wednesday night, per the royal-reporter pool, at the five-star Vatuvara Private Islands resort in northern Lau (a vacation destination that touts “supper on the beach” and “yoga under the stars,” both of which sound very Meghan and Harry).
Back at it on Thursday, the couple attended a special event at Nadi Airport in Fiji, before departing to head to Tonga for the next portion of the tour. The Duchess of Sussex wore a green Jason Wu short-sleeve shift dress for the appearance, with some Manolo Blahnik black suede heels. (She accessorized with a pair of emphatic gold earrings, and a matching gold cuff.) Oh, yeah, Harry wore clothes, too: a light-gray suit.
Meghan has a bit of history with Jason Wu: in early September, she actually debuted a dress from the designer’s spring/summer 2019 collection, with the reveal announced on the Jason Wu Instagram account.
The pair were given an official welcome at the event, as per usual, before a new statue was unveiled which commemorates a British-Fijian soldier who died in the Battle of Mirbat, in 1972. The president of Fiji, Jioji Konrote, and other senior government officials, were also in attendance.
Harry and Meghan’s stint in Fiji kicked off with a formal state dinner, to which Meghan wore a sky blue caped gown, which garnered much attention. Yesterday, at a local university, Meghan gave her first speech of the royal tour. And later in the day, a stop Meghan was to make at a local market was cut short, due to an overzealous crowd, per the Palace.
After their stop in Tonga, the two will return to Sydney, where they will attend the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games. And then there is still more after that, believe it or not, as the tour will conclude with the two visiting New Zealand.

For the couple’s first appearance of the trip, Meghan paired a white dress by Australian designer Karen Gee—it‘s called “Blessed”, which feels pretty pointed toward her recent pregnancy news—with a beige trench coat.
