This animal lover is putting the wildest dresses on dogs

A zealous inventor in Providence, Rhode Island, is infusing life into stuffed animals for sick children through the use of robotics. Sproutel CEO Aaron Horowitz knows how scary it can be growing up with a chronic illness: As a kid, he had human growth hormone deficiency.

Now his creations are giving children a voice through technology, and changing the conversation around health care in childhood illness by incorporating play. Jerry the Bear has Type 1 diabetes, and the My Special Aflac Duck has cancer. “The duck is fully responsive to the child,” Horowitz told The Post. “It was incredibly emotional to work with the kids.” The ducks are being distributed to kids with cancer at hospitals across the country in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
