Donald Trump has made a dizzying number of headlines in recent days. He ratcheted up his campaign rhetoric despite a wave of attempted bombings of former presidents and Democratic leaders, hosted a campaign rally the same day that 11 Americans were murdered in a synagogue, and touted a middle-class tax cut which doesn’t seem to actually exist.
So, yes, there is far more important news about the president than the video you’re about to watch. But that doesn’t make it any less curious.
After his giving brief remarks regarding the victims of the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Trump turned to ascend the steps to Air Force One, which would ferry him to Indianapolis for a campaign rally. As reporters puzzled over Trump’s remarks—he stressed that the house of faith should have had better “protection”—the president walked. He carried his own umbrella in the rain. Then he reached the top of the stairs, and ever-so-slightly hesitates: Should he close the umbrella and carry it in side? Or should he just shimmy it into the plane, and then close it?
The president elected to do neither. Instead, he dropped the oversized umbrella, letting it roll around at the top of the stairs. And then he walked into the plane. This concludes another episode of Donald Trump Struggling to Board Air Force One Without Incident.
