Carmelo Anthony’s return to face Thunder was a total flop

Carmelo Anthony turned in one of his best games for the Thunder – except he’s a Rocket.

The former Knicks star flopped big in his return to Oklahoma City after signing with Houston in the offseason. Anthony shot a dreadful 1-for-11 from the field, including 0-of-6 from 3-point range.  He scored just two points in 20 minutes during the Thunder’s 98-80 win on Thursday night.

He did not attempt a free throw and did not record an assist. Anthony did manage five rebounds and only two turnovers. He is averaging 14.7 points and 5.4 rebound per game in a reserve role this season for the Rockets, who dropped to 4-6.

Anthony played his only season with Oklahoma City last year, after he was traded by the Knicks. He averaged 16.2 points and helped the Thunder reach the playoffs during his rocky tenure.

James Harden led the Rockets with 19 points and the Thunder had six players in double figures, including Paul George with 20.
