Kentucky wasn’t ready for the Blue wave coming through Indianapolis on Tuesday night.
No. 4 Duke and freshman Zion Williamson bowled over the Wildcats like a 6-foot-7, 285-pound tsunami, beating them 118-84 in the first game of the State Farm Champions Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Williamson scored 28 points on 11-of-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds in the deluge, but his other top-rated freshman teammates pulled their weight just the same.
Cam Reddish scored 22 points with four steals and No. 1 recruit R.J. Barrett led the team with 33 points, six assists and four rebounds.
No. 2 Kentucky was led by senior Reid Travis and freshman Keldon Johnson with 22 and 23 points, respectively, in the worst loss of coach John Calipari’s coaching career.
