Avengers: Endgame Trailer Is Already Setting Major Records

Scarlett Johansson in Home Alone 3 (1997)

Everyone knows that the older siblings in the Home Alone franchise are never exactly nice. But the young protagonist Alex should be grateful that his older sister Molly (Johansson) didn’t have any of Black Widow’s combat training.

Robert Downey Jr. in Restoration (1995)

Robert Downey Jr. in Restoration (1995)

Robert Downey Jr. has played many many types in his long career but perhaps none quite so far removed from Tony Stark as the foppish 17th-century medical student Robert Merivel. Then again, Merivel is quite the ladies man so perhaps he’s not that far off from Tony after all.

Paul Bettany in Sharpe’s Waterloo (1997)

Paul Bettany in Sharpe’s Waterloo (1997)

Almost every British actor has an embarrassing costume drama buried deep in their C.V., but most don’t feature such magnificent hats. Bettany played the petulant, hapless, awful Prince William of Orange, opposite Sean Bean, in the popular Sharpe series for ITV.

What’s cuddlier than a 90s stoner with floppy hair and jewelry? Not much.

Samuel L. Jackson Ragtime (1981)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a Jackson role that can be described as “adorable” (though this 70s Krystal commercial comes close), but at least this role shows that Jackson’s hat game has always been on point.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Shanghai Knights (2003)

Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Shanghai Knights (2003)

Taylor-Johnson played the scrappy, young cockney sidekick Charlie Chaplin (yes, that Charlie Chaplin) to Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan in this 2003 sequel. Young Chaplin may have had sticky fingers, but he also had a heart of gold.

Elizabeth Olsen in The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of Thorn Mansion (1994)

Elizabeth Olsen in The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of Thorn Mansion (1994)

Before she made her own mark on Hollywood with Martha Marcy May Marlene, Olsen paid her dues playing herself in her older sisters’ direct-to-video series. You want to see those famous twins rapping “B-U-T-T Out” at their tiny sibling? Of course you do.

James Spader in Mannequin (1987)

James Spader in Mannequin (1987)

Yes Spader is technically the bad guy in this late 80s love story of a boy and his mannequin, but he’s a buffoonish one. Weirdly, this movie was filmed after Spader made a huge splash in Pretty in Pink.

Chris Hemsworth in Guinevere Jones (2002)

The wig work is strong with this one. Hemsworth played King Arthur in flashbacks for the Canadian/Australian fantasy television series about a Queen Guinevere–like character living in modern times. His part is mostly limited to walking around looking amazing in those brunette waves.
