A teenage girl fell 700 feet to her death from the popular Horseshoe Bend overlook in Arizona.
The 14-year-old girl’s family, who were visiting from San Jose, Calif., reported her missing Christmas Eve and her body was spotted later that day by an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter.
Authorities weren’t able to retrieve the girl’s body until Tuesday, Christmas Day.
Cops believe the teen, who hasn’t yet been publicly identified, accidentally fell from the scenic overlook, which offers view of the Colorado River flowing below red cliffs near the Arizona-Utah border.
The area is only accessible by foot and there are no barriers.
