Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri spoke to his players alone for a whole 40 minutes after they collapsed to a dreadful 4-0 loss at Bournemouth.
The game was goalless at half-time but Josh King’s strike early in the second-half then led to the Blues capitulating to one of their worst defeats in recent years.

Not even his coaching staff were allowed in the changing room for the conversation.
And when the Italian finally addressed the media, he seemed just as confused as anyone when asked why Chelsea played so badly in the second-half.
Speaking to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Sarri said: “I wanted to be alone with the players because I needed to understand otherwise it’s impossible to solve the problem.
“In this match it was very very strange because the team were motivated in the first-half and suddenly in the second-half, no.
“I wanted to understand why we played very well in the first-half and why when we conceded the first goal, which can happen, we reacted very badly.
“We didn’t act as a team in the offensive phase, acted as 11 eleven individual players and then we stopped defending.

“We were in trouble and I cannot understand why. After the first goal we had 43 minutes to solve the problem.”
This is not the first time Sarri has given outspoken post-match interviews after seeing his side lose.
He accused his players of lacking motivation after they lost at Arsenal earlier this month and Sarri claimed he is still struggling to motivate the team.
Sarri added: “I don’t know where the mistake is but for sure there is a mistake. I don’t know if it’s the players or if it’s my fault. I’m not able to motivate these players.

“We need to understand the players and the players need to understand me I think.
“This match was very important for us, we could have changed the season I think. It’s a very difficult moment and I think we need to react immediately because we have to play in three days.
The substitution of new signing Gonzalo Higuain on 65 minutes prompted some of the travelling Chelsea fans to chant “you don’t know what you’re doing” at the manager.

However, Sarri insisted Higuain’s lack of match fitness justified the decision to take him off.
Sarri added: “I can understand everything but Higuain is not at the top at the moment. In the last 40-45 days he’s played few matches because of his injury to his back and then he was involved in the market so he didn’t play a lot in the last period.
“Now he needs to play but he needs to play, 60, 70 or 75 minutes. I think it was the right decision.”
