Ahead of a more formal stateside trip rumored for the fall, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is already glamming up New York streets, Harper’s Bazaar reports. Not for the final season of Suits, mind you, but Markle is reportedly in town on a 5-day girls’ trip to visit friends before her royal baby arrives in the spring.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Markle has been in New York since at least February 15 (one hopes Harry didn’t mess up Valentine’s day), and spent the weekend emerging from an undisclosed five-star hotel for macarons and tea at LadurĂ©e in SoHo. Of course—a pre-baby New York shopping spree wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Bonpoint as well, and Markle’s friends are said to be hosting “a baby shower at a private location for 15 guests” on Tuesday, February 18.

“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves,” a source reportedly told Omid Scobie, frequent royal family correspondent. “This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.”

Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California, but spent time in New York and Toronto for her starring role on USA Network’s Suits, which she held until April 2018. That said, before the Duchess’ trip to New York City feeds rumors she and Prince Harry might be looking into an American school for their unborn child, a new Sunday Times report suggests the pair might actually consider American schooling in London. The two are said to be looking at an international college formerly known as the American Community School in Egham, Surrey, close to the Sussexes’ new home on the Windsor estate.

Meghan is otherwise expected to return to London this week, ahead of an official royal visit to Morocco with Harry on February 23.
