Manchester City managed to avoid any FA Cup humiliation after running out 4-1 winners over Newport County at Rodney Parade.
The game was goalless at half-time but Leroy Sane’s firm strike gave City a nerve-settling lead on 51 minutes before Phil Foden made it 2-0.

It was a positive night for City youngster Foden
Padraig Amond’s 88th-minute goal had the tie set up for a dramatic finish but Foden’s lovely solo effort restored the visitors’ two-goal lead.
City put some gloss on the scoreline with Riyad Mahrez’s goal in the final minute of stoppage-time as Newport’s FA Cup journey came to an end.
