A lot of shake-up behind the the scenes at Pixar has fans a little worried about its stability and future. In other words, the Bay Area animation studio could really use a win in 2019. Luckily enough, the company is returning to the world that started it all with Toy Story 4. The iconic characters fans know and love like Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear will return, of course, plus all new character like the DIY toy Forky and a pair of carnival prizes Ducky and Bunny voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. Part of the plot of Toy Story 4 involves Woody convincing Forky he has value despite his pipe cleaner appendages.
Not much is known about the plot of a screenplay that was worked on by Rashida Jones__ and __Will McCormack as well as Pixar founding fathers Andrew Stanton, Lee Unkrich, Pete Docter, and John Lasseter before landing with relative newcomer Stephany Folsom. But we do know that the film will explore the love story between Woody and an updated version of Bo Peep (Annie Potts)—who hasn’t been seen since 1999’s Toy Story 2.
“Bo’s taken control of her own destiny,” said Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley in a press release. “While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again. After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.” We’ll find out what the most of their worries are when the film hits theaters June 21, 2019.
