While Meghan Markle was celebrating her baby shower in New York City, in very luxe fashion, her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, remained in London, where two of her children were on a week-long school break. Thanks to an almost freakishly eagle-eyed spectator, we know that she spent one afternoon that week at a luxury spa with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, where the trio swam for about half an hour. We received a strangely detailed account of their swimming pool shenanigans (races! Dives! Sauna!), and, on this week’s episode of In the Limelight, Vanity Fair’s pop-culture podcast, co-hosts Josh Duboff and Julie Miller break it all down in their signature obsessive fashion.
Also on this week’s episode (titled “A Royal Pool Party”), the pair analyze Meghan and Prince Harry’s three-day whirlwind tour of Morocco, where the couple got henna tattoos, met some dignitaries, cooked, and communed with horses!
Josh and Julie also dissect the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper Oscar performance that captivated the populace at the awards show, and the subsequent fallout (which somehow involves David Spade?!). Plus, Julie shares what went on behind the scenes of the Vanity Fair Oscar party—a Glenn Close dance circle, some stellar Frances McDormand footwear, Gaga-approved fried chicken, and more!
So put on a full face of makeup (don’t forget the pearl earrings!), head down to the local swimming pool, and queue up this week’s episode of In the Limelight. Afterward, please share your thoughts, questions, and feedback with In the Limelight on Twitter and Instagram, and subscribe to In the Limelight on Apple Podcasts. Listeners can also call in to the In the Limelight hotline at (347) 790-0966 to leave tips or ask questions!
